Kevin L. Billups, M.D. is the founder and Medical Director of The Billups Center. Dr. Billups earned his undergraduate degree at Harvard and medical degree at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he also completed his residency in Urology at the Brady Urological Institute. Dr. Billups next completed a fellowship in sexual medicine, male infertility, and vascular biology at the University of Virginia and was honored as an American Foundation for Urologic Disease and Robert Woods Johnson Foundation scholar.
Dr. Billups' research focus is on using erectile dysfunction and testosterone deficiency as gender-specific markers for earlier detection and prevention of chronic conditions, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and hypertension. As a leader in Men's Sexual Medicine, Dr. Billups' vision for founding The Billups Center was to understand sexual health issues in context of a man's total health, looking at the whole man to better evaluate and treat the patient.
Ken Mitchell is a certified Physician Assistant who brings over 25 years of clinical experience to The Billups Center, including over 15 years' experience in erectile dysfunction (ED) and sexual dysfunction. Ken's area of specialization has been with patients with ED related to radical prostatectomy (Robotic and Open).
Ken's innovative treatment protocol, The Surgical Impotence Management Strategy (SIMS), covers comprehensive patient education and delivery of care. He has participated in research trials on sexual dysfunction and is active in community outreach to educate men about sexual and general health. His practice interests include general men's health, ED, premature ejaculation, priapism, Peyronie's disease, and hypogonadism.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), Urological Association of Physician Assistants (UAPA, and is an associate member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America. He served 2 terms as President of the Urological Association of Physician Assistants (UAPA). Ken earned his undergraduate degree from Dana College and Masters in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from the University of Nebraska Physician Assistant Program.
